2025 Home Project List (just a *little* late…)

First up on our list is to finish up our laundry room space! We are close to the finish line. Last year we did a major overhaul, adding peel and stick tile flooring (which has held up great over the last year!), we replaced our washer and dryer as they were on their last leg, we added taller cabinets that reach the ceiling, added some peel and stick wallpaper as well as a larger pantry type cabinet for storage. This year we added beadboard and some moulding and painted it in a beautiful Evergreen Fog color by Sherwin Williams. I still would like to add new lighting, a shade for our window for privacy, and we need to build a surround for our laundry so we have a surface to fold laundry and have additional work space. That will round out that space!

Next, I hope to do a small living/dining room update. At the end of the year we replaced our dining table and chairs. I am still LOVING them. The table is such a great quality piece that will last years and years and is such a classic design. I’d love to add some moulding to the space to give it a little more character and make it feel cohesive, since our dining space and formal living area are open to each other. Then adding in some other pieces to make the space feel more complete – like drapes, some new artwork, and maybe some shelving/cabinetry.

Lastly, we are hoping to do a major overhaul of our primary bath. It is SO needed for a space we use so much. We have one pedastal sink in our primary bath, y’all. There is so little storage it isn’t even funny. We currently have some plastic drawers that my husband uses next to the sink just to have a surface to set things on. Let me just tell you – a pedastal sink is not meant for a primary bath. I’d argue it’s not meant for a guest bathroom either. A powder room I can understand, but my goodness storage is so necessary in a bathroom! This is something we will be hiring out for majority of it because we just don’t have the time to work on this together, especially in Q4. We hope to double the sink space and replace my vanity only with a sink and vanity, while also adding a vanity where the existing sink is. Our closet is also attached to our bathroom and isn’t the largest. I’d love to see if there is a design option that makes it more functional for us.

Outside of the primary bath, no project should take a lot of time or money. But so far we haven’t prioritized them since the first two projects are more about aesthetic than function. I think the second half of this year will prove to be busier/more productive for us! The summer always slows us down since we like to take advantage of the outdoors and family time when we don’t have activities. Looking forward to getting back to projects soon, but for now I’ll just keep dreaming up moodboards for my house. πŸ™‚
